The down- ring ported design allows for a compact cabinet size, thereby increasing its placement exibility. Additionally, the SB8 can squeeze into tight spots behind furniture and in cabinets with no concern of its output being muf ed.
Small, unobtrusive and deceptively simple-looking, the SB8 has a rugged 8” long-throw driver with an oversized surround for exceptionally long excursion and low distortion, even at very high output levels.
Its high-current, equalized 125-watt amplifier and massive nned heat sink are proof of the power that lurks beneath it’s glossy surface. The SB8 has a low-end extension of 32 Hz (-3 dB) and its solid, muscular sound surprises and delights listeners every time.
Small but Feature Rich
Just because the SB8 is our smallest home theater sub doesn’t mean we skimped on its features or hookup exibility. Like all of our subs, the SB8 has an adjustable crossover, a crossover bypass setting for use with electronics that have built-in bass management, auto-on signal sensing, phase control, and a detachable AC power cord, and special proprietary distortion-detection circuitry that prevents the SB8 from emitting objectionably-distorted sound, regardless of how hard it’s pushed.
