Atlantic Technology: home audio since 1989
Atlantic Technology began in 1989 with the CTS1, Compact Theater System One. That first product established a focus on home theater that continues through our speaker families today. Our range now spans surround sound systems, architectural speakers, soundbars, wireless audio, and headphones, connecting our home theater roots with the different ways people listen.
Our beginnings in home theater
Our story starts with a system. The CTS1 was followed by families including System 170, 250, and 350 as Atlantic Technology developed its home theater range through the 1990s and early 2000s. Designing products as part of a family became a continuing thread in the catalog.
That history gives context to the speakers we make today. Front channels, a center speaker, surrounds, and subwoofers each have a role, but the listening experience comes from how they work together.
A system approach to sound
Our home theater speaker families carry that approach into different cabinet sizes and room layouts. The 8600i family brings floorstanding left and right speakers together with a matching center channel. The 4400, 6200e, 8200e, and 8600e families offer other arrangements within the same broader focus on surround sound.

Audio becomes part of the room
Architectural audio extends our system approach into the building itself. In-wall and in-ceiling speakers place the sound within the room’s surfaces, alongside the freestanding and on-wall speakers in our range. They reflect another part of the Atlantic Technology story: the relationship between sound and the spaces people live in.
Our work in this area includes the IC-6OBA, introduced in 2016 for object-based audio systems. It is one example of how our architectural range has developed alongside changes in home theater.
From the home theater to everyday listening
Our catalog has grown beyond the theater room. Wireless portable speakers such as the Nexa1 and personal audio products such as the TWS1 mark that expansion. The TWS1 joined our range in 2023, bringing Atlantic Technology into wireless earbuds.
